Google Introduces New Updates for Google Workspace, Meet, Docs and Translate

Google I/O 2022 was a revolutionary event in which many never before seen technological advancements were revealed to the public by Google. Google rebranded its security feature and apps with many new updates. The American company also introduced features like AI Kitchen Testing and LaMDA 2, which will revolutionise how Artificial Intelligence works. In this particular piece, we will be talking about Google updates for the apps Google Meet, Workspace, Docs and Translate.

New Features to Google Meet:

Google Meet has received some notable new features at the Google I/O 2022. The application will now have a better outlook for supporting work video calls with the latest update. Google has added better lighting to the Meet, and now one can adjust the lightning in their video throughout the call to represent oneself clearly in front of the others. This feature will work even in the dimly lit rooms and areas, making it all the more useful.

Google is also adding the portrait restore to Google Meet. It will help the users maintain the same video quality during a video call even when there is slow Wi-Fi connectivity or using an old webcam that cannot support high-resolution calls. In addition, a live sharing feature is also being included, which will allow the participants of a video call to manage the content circulated.

Google Updates to Workspace and Docs:

Google Workspace is basically a larger set of apps that Google categorise as useful for the work environment. It includes Google Meet, Docs, Slides and Excel etc. Google is now coming up with a new update for Google Docs that will produce AI-powered summaries of the documents to give the users a quick, digestible look at the topic. Google claims that it will save time by creating short valuable tidbits.

Google Translate Updates:

Google has added 24 more languages to its application to bring the total number of languages used by Google Translate to 133. Eight new languages added to the app belongs to the Indian subcontinent. The new languages include Lingala, Luganda, Bambara, Dhivehi, Ewe, Guarani, Ilocano, Kurdish, Oromo, Sepedi, Tigrinya, Tsoga, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Sanskrit, Dogri, Konkani, Maithili, Meiteilon and more.
