We use Google Maps several times in our daily lives, mostly for finding directions or navigation. However, this app offers many more features that can make your day-to-day life easier. For instance, if you use Google Maps correctly, you can even avoid getting traffic fines. Not just that, you can also use it to take care of your family or friends by sharing your location with them. Today, we’ll tell you about some special Google Maps tricks that can completely change how you use the app.

Avoid Traffic Fines with Google Maps

If you use Google Maps properly, you can avoid getting fined for overspeeding. Google Maps has a built-in feature called Speedometer. When this feature is turned on, your phone’s GPS shows the speed of your vehicle right on the map. It also gives you visual alerts when you’re on roads with speed limits that, if crossed, can result in a fine. This way, you can keep your speed in check and avoid traffic tickets. To enable this feature, open the Maps app, go to Settings, tap on Navigation, scroll down and turn on the Speedometer option.

Share Location to Take Care of Loved Ones

Did you know you can share your real-time location with your loved ones using Google Maps? Sometimes, we want to keep track of our kids, partners, or elderly parents to ensure they are safe. In such cases, the location sharing feature is very useful. To use this, open the Maps app, go to the menu, and tap on Location Sharing. You can choose to share your location temporarily or permanently with selected contacts.

    Estimate Toll Costs

When using Google Maps for travel, you can also check if there are tolls on your route and get an estimate of the toll charges in advance. Not only that, but while navigating, you can also select a route that avoids toll roads. This helps you save money on toll charges during your journey.

These simple but powerful features make Google Maps more than just a navigation tool—it becomes a daily assistant for safe, smart, and economical travel.
