Tata Sky, one of the biggest Direct to Home (DTH) platforms. It has rebranded as Tata Play, with a new official logo. The DTH provider has also partnered with Netflix to offer new OTT-focused channel bundles. Users will be able to see the company’s new name beginning on January 27.
Tata Sky, a partnership between Tata Group and Walt Disney Company. It is now hoping to broaden its television-cum-OTT services with several new bundles. After an 18-year presence in the region, the corporation has opted to delete the word Sky from its brand.
Tata Sky, which is said to have more than 19 million active users. Firm stated that its corporate entities have expanded beyond DTH to encompass fiber-to-home internet and Binge, which provides 14 OTT programs.
Tata Play would Include 14 OTT Platforms
“While we began as a DTH business, we have now completely converted into a content delivery firm”, Harit Nagpal, MD, and CEO of Tata Play stated in an interview. “We intended to build and assemble a platform/service and provide a seamless experience for a limited number of clients as their demands changed as they began to consume material across OTT Platforms/services. As a result, Binge was created. In addition, we offer a customised broadband service.”.
As part of its Binge package. The DTH network has introduced Netflix to 13 Ott platforms, such as Amazon Prime Video and Disney+Hotstar. Tata Play would charge ₹ 399 per month for its subscription platform.
According to Mint, the new combination packs is going to get live across India in a promotion starring stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan in market economies and R Madhavan and Priyamani in the southern region. Tata Play has agreed to forgo the Rs 175 service visit fee. DTH users who have not yet renewed their packs are also eligible for free synchronizations.
