Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 is off to a flying start at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi starrer has collected Rs 15.5 crore net in India by 1:30 pm on Day 1, according to early estimates, and is on course for one of the biggest openings in Hindi cinema history.
The film had already sold tickets worth over Rs 42 crore gross for its opening day before release, and the biggest part of the day’s business is still to come with the evening and night shows. Early word of mouth has been positive, and our Ramayana review rates the film 3.5 out of 5. Here is the live Ramayana box office collection Day 1 report, which will be updated through the day.

|---|---|
| 7:00 am | Rs 3.66 crore |

Ramayana Day 1 Collection by Language
The Hindi version is bringing in over 70% of the film’s business, as expected. Among the dubbed versions, Kannada is leading thanks to Yash’s huge fan following in Karnataka, followed by Telugu. Tamil and Malayalam are contributing smaller amounts. Based on the morning data, the language-wise share stood as follows:
| Language | Day 1 Net (till 10:30 am) |
|---|---|
| Hindi | Rs 9.16 crore |
| Kannada | Rs 1.75 crore |
| Telugu | Rs 1.18 crore |
| Tamil | Rs 44 lakh |
| Malayalam | Rs 16 lakh |
| Total | Rs 12.69 crore |
The updated language-wise split will be added once the full Day 1 data is out.
Ramayana Advance Booking: Among the Biggest Ever
Ramayana entered its opening day with one of the biggest advance bookings ever for a Hindi film. By Wednesday night, it had sold over 11.5 lakh tickets for Day 1, worth over Rs 42 crore gross including blocked seats, across more than 25,600 shows. Its opening day advance is reported to be the second-biggest for a Bollywood film, ahead of Jawan’s opening day pre-sales.
Across all its booked days, Ramayana’s advance sales in India crossed Rs 111 crore gross before release. 3D shows brought in the biggest share at 56% of the total, followed by 2D at 27% and IMAX 3D at 12%.

Ramayana Day 1 Prediction: How Big Can the Opening Be?
Based on the advance booking and the trend so far, trade estimates suggest Ramayana could open in the range of Rs 50 crore to over Rs 80 crore net in India on Day 1. The final number will depend on how strong the spot bookings and word of mouth are for the evening and night shows. A figure in this range would put it among the biggest openings ever for a Hindi film.
The film also has a strong runway ahead.
