Good news for Maharashtra! The state is soon going to get its 12th Vande Bharat Express, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 August. This new semi-high-speed train will run between Ajni (Nagpur) and Pune, and will be operated and maintained by the Central Railway (CR) zone.
The Ajni (Nagpur)–Pune Vande Bharat Express will be the longest-running Vande Bharat train in the country, covering a distance of 881 km. It will also be the fastest train on the Nagpur–Pune route, with an average speed of 73 km/h. The train will have 10 intermediate stops and will run via Wardha–Akola–Shegaon–Bhusawal–Jalgaon–Manmad–Puntamba–Daund.
This new Vande Bharat Express will run as train numbers 26101/26102. Regular service will start from Pune on 11 August and from Ajni on 12 August. It will operate six days a week.
