    Wegovy weight loss injection

People often look for easy and affordable ways to lose weight. That’s why many companies regularly launch supplements, fat loss pills, powders, and injections — and a large number of people use them. On June 24, Denmark-based pharma company Novo Nordisk officially launched its weight-loss drug Wegovy in India. This drug, an anti-diabetic injection, is now available in the Indian market.

Wegovy is a once-a-week injection and belongs to the class of GLP-1 receptor agonists, which are used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Doctors in India can now prescribe Wegovy to patients suffering from obesity or excess weight.

    How is Wegovy Different?

After Mounjaro, Wegovy is the second weight-loss injection to be officially launched in India. Internationally, drugs like Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy are widely used to manage diabetes and reduce weight. Naturally, many people want to know:

    • What is Wegovy?
    • How does it work?
    • What is the price in India?
    • What are its side effects?

    Let’s explore all these questions.

    What is Wegovy?

Wegovy is the brand name for a higher dose of semaglutide, an anti-diabetic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity. It is available in an easy-to-use device similar to a FlexTouch pen and is taken once weekly.

Wegovy helps control hunger and insulin levels. In simple terms, it gives a feeling of fullness even after eating less, helping to reduce food intake. It also helps maintain blood sugar levels and promotes fat burning.

    How Does Wegovy Work?

Wegovy acts on the brain areas that control hunger and cravings. It contains semaglutide, which mimics a natural hormone in the body to:

    • Suppress appetite
    • Slow digestion
    • Reduce food intake
    • Keep you feeling full longer
    • Control blood sugar levels

    Who Can Use Wegovy?

According to the official Wegovy website, it is recommended for:

    • Adults and children (12+ years) who are obese or overweight
    • Individuals with weight-related health issues
    • Those at risk of heart attack or stroke due to obesity

Note: Wegovy contains semaglutide and should not be used with other semaglutide-based or GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs.

    Wegovy Price in India

Wegovy has been launched in five dosage variants in India. Here’s the pricing:

DosageMonthly Price (INR)Price per Dose (INR)
