These days, several films are creating a buzz at the box office. After a slow start, Aamir Khan’s film Sitaare Zameen Par has picked up momentum in terms of earnings. Meanwhile, the South Indian film Kuberaa is performing well. On the other hand, Housefull 5 is starting to lose its grip, and Hollywood’s How to Train Your Dragon is also seeing a slow run. Let’s take a look at how the films performed on Saturday.
Sitaare Zameen Par
After much anticipation, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par finally hit the theatres and received positive reviews. While it struggled to attract audiences on opening day, the film made a strong comeback on Saturday, earning ₹21.50 crore. It had collected ₹10.7 crore on its first day, bringing its two-day total to ₹32.20 crore.
Kuberaa
The South Indian film Kuberaa is also doing well. It made a strong opening and continued the streak on its second day. On Saturday, the film earned ₹16 crore, following a ₹14.75 crore collection on day one. This brings its total to ₹30.75 crore so far. Dhanush’s performance in the film is being widely appreciated.
Housefull 5
Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 saw a slight weekend rise. The film collected ₹2.25 crore on Saturday, taking its total earnings to ₹172.35 crore. According to reports, the film’s budget is around ₹225 crore, meaning it still has a long way to go to break even.
How to Train Your Dragon
Hollywood’s How to Train Your Dragon had an average start in India. Although there was a slight jump in earnings over the weekend, collections have started to dip. By Saturday, the film had earned ₹18.67 crore in India. The Hindi version earned ₹17 lakh on Saturday, while the English version brought in ₹1.44 crore.
