He is the only Indian to be included in Fortune Magazine’s list of powerful businessmen for 2024. Additionally, six other people of Indian origin, who are settled abroad, are also featured in the list. These individuals are founders, CEOs, and innovators of major businesses.
Ambani Ranked 12th on the List:
Fortune recently released this list, placing Ambani at the 12th position. According to Forbes, Ambani is the wealthiest person in Asia and India, with a net worth of approximately ₹7.6 lakh crore (98 billion USD). As of November 13, 2024, Reliance Industries’ market capitalization stands at ₹16.96 lakh crore. Reliance Industries operates in various sectors, including petrochemicals, retail, entertainment, telecom, and more.

Ambani Family Business Empire:
The Ambani family is working on making the next generation the successor of their business empire. Ambani’s elder son, Akash Ambani, is the Chairman of Reliance Jio, while his younger son, Anant Ambani, is involved in the energy sector. His daughter, Isha Ambani, leads Reliance Retail. On November 14, Reliance Retail announced the temporary closure of its fashion store centers, with a total of 33 such centers across the country. Reports suggest that by the end of November, Reliance Retail may close more than 20 stores temporarily.

Elon Musk remains the world’s wealthiest businessman, followed by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, in second place. Satya Nadella ranks third, Warren Buffet is fourth, and Jamie Dimon is fifth. Tim Cook secures the sixth spot, while Mark Zuckerberg is seventh. Sam Altman holds the eighth position. Mary Barra and Sundar Pichai are ranked ninth and tenth, respectively. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is at the 11th position.
