It has been confirmed that there will no “Chakka Jam” or any road blockage today in Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Though the farmers have agreed to protest peacefully on national highways and this statement appeared due to the recent violent act that took place on Republic Day in Delhi during a tractor rally.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha, which is a participant in the protest, demanded the repeal of the new three farm laws and said that the path of ambulances and school buses will not be interrupted at all during the “chakka jam” that has been scheduled between 12 PM to 3 PM today.

Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that the roads of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh will not be blocked; excluding Delhi too because they might be summoned in Delhi at any time, so they are kept on standby. He also said they have evidence that a few people will try to make their moves to create violence at these places. So, finally, they have decided not to block roads in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

It has been more than 70 days that thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh have been camping at Delhi-Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur border.

The farmer’s group further added that there will be no ‘chakka jam’ inside Delhi as all the protest sites are already in chakka jam mode. Only those roads will be closed where farmer’s protest sites have been located, otherwise, all the roads entering Delhi will remain open without complications.

Farmer leader Darshan Pal said in a statement that ‘chakka jam’ will be conducted peacefully as protesters have been asked not to get into any kind of conflict with the government officials and others.

The farmer’s group supported the government’s decision to snap the internet and installing concrete barricades including the insertion of nails on roads was an act to silence them.

The level of security around the Delhi-Haryana border has been leveled up and more police officials have been deployed. Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava reviewed the arrangements by himself after having a meeting with senior officers.

The police said that it will keep an eye on social media that anybody won’t spread rumors that might turn into a big issue. Delhi Police spokesperson Chinmoy Biswal said in his statement that the protesters are camping at Delhi borders and Delhi police are in touch with the police force of other states too.
