India is committed to the absolute challenge of supplying over 160 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 60 countries and UNICEF by the end of March. India’s foreign ministry is planning on how to form a distribution procedure and trying to dig out an easy way to do that. It was India’s decision to supply around 10 million vaccine doses in the first round to its neighboring countries.

India is one of those countries which achieved remarkable results in the history of science by preparing the COVID-19 vaccine within a year, whereas many developed countries are still experimenting to create one of their own vaccines. That is why India is being pressurized with formal and informal requests from 60 different countries.

According to recent reports, 14.5 million doses of vaccine have already been dispatched by India’s Serum Institute to 11 neighboring countries. The list of 11 countries also includes Brazil and Morocco, who were also supplied the vaccine but on a commercial basis. The external affair’s ministry is targeting to achieve dispatch of 33 million doses this month.

Out of the 60 countries, 30 have written in a formal way and the rest have requested in an informal way. There is one country Afghanistan which hasn’t requested at all, but India is willing to dispatch vaccines to this neighboring country too, and not only that, India has shown its commitment to supply 10 million doses of vaccine to Africa alone.Delhi Covid-19 Vaccination: The Inoculation Will Be Done Four Times A Week

India started its domestic COVID-19 vaccination program on January 16 and simultaneously started delivering vaccines to its neighboring countries such as gifts and on a commercial basis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised that he will not let the flow of supply of vaccines break at any cost and is committed to saving the lives of citizens in other countries also. He said this while addressing himself at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.
