There are many reasons why Sachin Tendulkar is known as the ‘God of Cricket’, and this is one of them. He achieved this remarkable feat of scoring 100 international centuries during his career. Here’s a breakdown of Sachin Tendulkar’s international centuries by format:

  • Test matches: 51 centuries in 200 matches

Tendulkar’s record of 100 international centuries is a testament to his longevity, skill, and dedication to the sport. He is India’s best player in tournaments like World Cup, Asia Cup and more. He retired from international cricket in 2013, leaving a legacy as one of the greatest batters in the game’s history.

Rohit Sharma’s 264 Runs Against Sri Lanka

Rohit Sharma from the Indian Cricket Team created history on 13th November 2014. He scored 264 runs against Sri Lanka in an ODI (One Day International) match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India. This is the highest and one-of-a-kind individual score recorded in an ODI.

During his 173-ball stint at the crease, Rohit struck 33 boundaries and 9 sixes, making his innings a batting masterclass. His first hundred took him 72 balls, but after that, he picked up the pace quickly, hitting his second hundred in just 36. He continued to dominate Sri Lanka’s bowling lineup until his dismissal in the 47th over, when India had amassed an enormous score of 404 for 5.

In addition to reaching a personal milestone, Rohit’s performance contributed to India’s decisive 153-run victory in the game. He received much praise and honour from the cricketing community for his 264-run performance, regarded as one of the best ODI innings ever.

19 Wickets in a Test Match by Jim Laker

JIM lAKER

A former English cricketer named Jim Laker once pulled off the incredible feat of taking 19 wickets in a single Test match against Australia at Old Trafford in Manchester, England, in 1956. One of the finest performances in cricket history is thought to have been made by Laker during the match.

Australia was knocked out for just 84 runs in the first innings of the game, thanks to Laker’s 9 wickets for 37 runs. He claimed all ten wickets in the second innings for just 53 runs, leading to Australia’s dismissal for 205 runs. With a final total of 19 for 90, Laker still holds the record for the most wickets taken in a single Test match.

In addition to the wickets he claimed, Laker’s performance was noteworthy for the calibre of his bowling. He made excellent use of the spin-friendly pitch, routinely outplaying the batters with his accuracy, turn, and flight. Laker was rightfully chosen as the player of the match for his contribution to England’s innings and 170-run victory.

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan is primarily recognised as one of the best bowlers in the sport’s history. With a total of 1347 wickets throughout all game types, he holds the record for the most international dismissals by any bowler.

Between 1992 and 2011, Muralitharan represented Sri Lanka in 133 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 12 T20 Internationals (T20Is). In Test matches, 534 in ODIs, and 13 in T20Is, he claimed 800 wickets.
