It was recently announced that Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey release date has been postponed again. We all know that due to the pandemic, many movies could not be released in theatres.
So, they chose various OTT platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime to release their movies. But, on the other hand, there were also many movies that chose to wait to release in the theatres, And Jersey was one of those.

Jersey has been one of the most awaited movies this year. This is a sports drama film that is written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Moreover, this movie is Mr Tinnanuri’s debut Hindi film as well.
Jersey is a sports drama that is based on the life of a father. The lead role is played by Shahid Kapoor along with Mrunal Thakur.
In this movie, you will see Shahid Kapoor play the role of a former cricketer who had taken retirement from his sports career. But now, decides to make a comeback in his late 30s. Furthermore, Shahid takes this decision because of his son’s wish to get a jersey.
Interestingly, this movie is a remake of a South-Indian movie called Jersey. The movie was officially announced in 2019. But, because of the pandemic could not be released soon after.
Jersey Release Date
Jersey was to be released officially on 28th December 2020. But, we all know how pandemics affected the release of movies all over.
Furthermore, the production of this movie was also affected adversely. Additionally, even after the pandemic’s effect, the movie wrapped up on 14th December 2020. And the Jersey release date was finalized for 31st December 2021.
The movie release date was again postponed to 14th April 2022 because of the Omicron variant.

Jersey Release Date Postponed To Avoid Clash With KGF 2
Despite the previous postponing the movie is yet to be released on the 14th of April. This is because it is recently announced that Jersey’s release date has once again been postponed to 22nd April 2022.
If you are a KGF fan you will surely know that KGF 2 will be released on 14th April 2022. So, to avoid a clash with KGF 2, Jersey will finally be released on the 22nd of April this year.
So, make sure to book your tickets in advance and watch this amazing movie about a father who is willing to do everything he can for his son’s wish.
