Google is rolling out a new feature in its Phone app aimed at improving call sorting on handsets. Reports suggest that several filters will be introduced to categorize different types of calls, ranging from spam to unknown callers. Instead of displaying calls as a single list, users will now see them sorted into various categories. Initially available to beta users of the Phone app, this feature is now being widely released for all Android users.

According to a report by Android Authority, the Phone app can now categorize calls based on their type, such as All, Missed, Contacts, Spam, and Non-Spam. This is expected to make it easier to find specific callers instead of scrolling through an unorganized call list. However, the feature currently includes only a specific set of filters, and users do not have the option to filter calls based on incoming or outgoing status.

The call filters were first introduced last month with the Phone app update version 159.0.718038457-publicbeta-pixel2024. At that time, they were limited to beta users, and there was no information about a public rollout. However, reports now confirm that the update is being rolled out to all Android users.
