Delhi New CM: Is Parvesh Verma Out of the Race? These Three Leaders Emerge Ahead

Category-

After the Delhi Assembly election results, the countdown for the formation of the new government has begun. Following the BJP’s historic comeback, all eyes are on who will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. Although the BJP has not made any official announcement yet, it is expected that the name of the new Chief Minister will be declared soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his US visit.

The swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place on February 19 or 20. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Parvesh Verma may be out of the race for the Chief Minister’s post. Earlier, his name was strongly considered after he defeated Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat, but now his chances of securing the position seem slim.

BJP is Considering Three Key Names

The BJP is now reportedly focusing on three main candidates:

  • Manjinder Singh Sirsa
  • Jitender Mahajan
  • Rekha Gupta

One of these three leaders is expected to become the next Chief Minister of Delhi.

Will BJP Make a Surprise Decision?

Several experienced BJP leaders were initially discussed for the Chief Minister’s post, including Parvesh Verma, Satish Upadhyay, Vijender Gupta, Ashish Sood, and Pawan Sharma. However, the BJP has a history of selecting lesser-known leaders for key positions.

Previously, the party chose Mohan Yadav as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Bhajan Lal Sharma in Rajasthan, and Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha. Considering these past decisions, there is speculation that the BJP may make another unexpected choice for Delhi.

BJP’s Strong Comeback After 27 Years

The BJP has made a remarkable comeback in Delhi after 27 years. Winning 48 out of 70 seats, the party secured a majority, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) managed to win only 22 seats. The Congress failed to win a single seat. Arvind Kejriwal also lost from the New Delhi constituency, where he was defeated by Parvesh Verma.

With this victory, new political developments are expected in Delhi. What will be the BJP’s next move? Who will emerge as the final choice for the Chief Minister’s post? The answers to these questions will be revealed soon, as everyone eagerly awaits the party’s official announcement.
