Google Meet Allows Video Chat with 100 people for Free

Google Meet Video Conferencing is free for anyone who wishes to use it through G Suite. Anyone having a Google account will be able to create new and free meetings up to 100 people simultaneously or at once.

This platform was initially launched as a premium platform but seeing the demand amidst coronavirus outbreak, it is offering free versions now. Google Duo and Hangouts were already accessible for casual video chatting.

Now, Google Meet permits up to 100 members on a video call at once. It highlights features such as planning meetings, screen sharing, and real-time captioning.

    HOW TO USE GOOGLE MEET?

To use the platform, go to the Google Meet page. Enter your name, email, nation and other credentials. Give consent to Google’s T&C, and hit Submit.

Here’s the way to use Video Conferencing App:

    1. Go to official website

    2. Enter meeting code or click on start new meeting as applicable.

    3. Select Google account the user wishes to use

    4. After that, click on the Join Meeting. Other participants can also be added.

    A STRATEGIC MOVE

This strategy was made considering Zoom’s position in the market. This action by Google  helped them take over the edge in the online platform since Indian citizens switched to this application.

The government found the Zoom platform as unsafe due to some data and security concerns. Google has spread out various default security measures with Meet, including host controls, complex gathering codes, and encryption.

Previously, the users were required to be ‘paying G-Suite’ customers for availing service. But now any user having Google account will be able to phone up to 100 people at a time having unlimited call duration till September 30.

However, after September 30 Google will charge all free meet video calls exceeding 60 minutes. In addition to this, all the free Google Meet users will able to access various unique features similar to that of Zoom.

    CONCLUSION

Google has enhanced its Video Conferencing App by allowing the access to devoted tabs for beginning and joining meetings specifically into Gmail.

Video-calling app installation has even sky-rocketed during the pandemic outbreak. Users are working and studying from home and having digital conversations with the help of digital platforms like Google Meet.

Lately, Google said its users have grown by more than 30 times. In other words, it is facilitating 3 billion minutes of video meets and adding almost 3 million new users and clients per day.
