World water day is celebrated to tell the world about the importance of water. And to also create awareness among people to save and make proper use of the water available to us.

Importance Of Celebrating This Day

We all need water, and without it, we cannot survive. It is our duty to keep the water safe and healthy, not just for us, but for nature and animals as well.

Most of us take water for granted because it is available to us in abundance, right? But think of those who do not get water at all. There are people who have to walk miles to get fresh drinking water.

According to an official report, there are around 2.2 billion people who do not have access to safe drinking water.  So, it becomes important to create awareness for people to not waste but save water.

Theme Of World Water Day 2022

Every year, a theme is selected for this particular day. And according to this theme, awareness campaigns and slogans are made.

This year, the theme is “Groundwater, making the invisible visible”.

And by the name of this theme, you can understand that it aims to focus on the groundwater. You must surely know that the groundwater level has depleted to a great extent in recent times.

Moreover, no effective measures are taken as such to increase the groundwater level. According to research, a large percentage of the fresh water in the world is groundwater.
