Jailer 2 has crossed the Rs 200 crore net mark in India in just five days. Rajinikanth’s action sequel had collected an estimated Rs 31.73 crore net on Day 5 by Monday evening, taking its India total to around Rs 231.63 crore net. With the Ayudha Puja holiday on Monday and Vijayadashami on Tuesday, the film is now heading towards the Rs 250 crore net mark in India.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 released on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. Here is the full Day 5 box office report, with the language-wise, day-wise and worldwide collection.

An occupancy of nearly 46% on a Monday is a very strong number for a film in its first week. The figure above does not yet include all the night shows, which usually do well when the next day is also a holiday, so the final Day 5 number is expected to be much higher.

The Tamil version is once again carrying the film, with afternoon shows in Tamil Nadu running at around 70% occupancy. The Telugu version has also held well on Monday and is ahead of Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali in the Telugu states, based on early Monday figures.

The final Sunday figure turned out to be the film’s best day after the opening. Jailer 2 earned Rs 55.85 crore net on Day 4, up more than 18% from Saturday, and closed its four-day opening weekend with Rs 199.90 crore net in India. It then crossed the Rs 200 crore mark early on Monday.
Ayudha Puja and Vijayadashami Holidays Boost Jailer 2
The timing of the release is working in the film’s favour. Monday, October 19, is Ayudha Puja, a holiday in Tamil Nadu, and Tuesday, October 20, is Vijayadashami. This gives Jailer 2 two extra holidays right after its opening weekend.
Advance bookings had pointed to a Day 5 India net of around Rs 44 crore to Rs 49 crore, and the film could land close to that range once the night shows are added. A strong Tuesday could push the six-day total well past Rs 250 crore net.
Jailer 2 vs Leo: Racing for the Tamil Record
In Tamil alone, Jailer 2 has crossed Rs 150 crore net in five days. That matches the record set by Vijay’s Leo as the fastest Tamil film to reach the mark, and puts it ahead of the first Jailer, which took six days. It is also four days quicker than Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
Leo, which also released in the same festive slot in 2023, collected Rs 171.45 crore net in Tamil in its first five days. Whether Jailer 2 can match or beat that number depends on how strong Monday night shows turn out to be.
Jailer 2 Hindi Collection
The Hindi version, which started slowly, earned Rs 16.65 crore net over its four-day opening weekend. That is more than twice the lifetime Hindi collection of the first Jailer, which earned Rs 7.24 crore. It is still a little behind Coolie’s Hindi opening weekend of Rs 19.75 crore.

Jailer 2 crossed Rs 424 crore gross worldwide in its four-day opening weekend, with overseas markets adding Rs 40 crore on Sunday alone. With Monday’s collection added, the worldwide total is set to cross Rs 450 crore.
Jailer 2 Budget and Box Office Verdict So Far
Jailer 2 is made on a reported budget of Rs 240 crore to Rs 300 crore. With over Rs 420 crore gross worldwide in four days, the film has already earned well above its budget in gross terms and is firmly on its way to becoming a big success.
