Two unemployed friends accidentally stumbling into a national security threat sounds like the setup for a disaster, but that’s exactly the kind of disaster VIBE seems determined to have fun with. The trailer for Kunal Kemmu’s new action comedy is finally out, and it wastes no time establishing itself as one of the more unhinged entertainers heading to theatres this September.
What’s the VIBE Trailer Actually Showing
Written and directed by Kemmu himself, VIBE introduces Hardik, played by Kemmu, an unemployed middle-aged slacker who’s clearly still trying to convince himself he’s young, and his far more sensible best friend Bugs, played by Sparsh Shrivastava.
The two are inseparable, and that bond becomes the engine of the entire film once their ordinary lives take a hard left turn into an actual national security crisis.
Completely unqualified and spectacularly unprepared for anything remotely heroic, the duo ends up recruited and forcibly trained as accidental spies by Madam H, played by Preity Zinta. It’s a role that lets Zinta mix real authority with the film’s overall quirky energy, and the trailer suggests she’s having a genuinely good time playing someone who has to whip two reluctant idiots into shape under pressure.
The comic tension here is fairly straightforward but effective. Hardik wants absolutely nothing to do with heroics, while Bugs seems weirdly up for the challenge, and that contrast is clearly meant to carry a lot of the film’s humour.
Throw in sharp one-liners, chaotic situations, a handful of energetic chase sequences, and peppy music, and the trailer builds a picture of a proper theatrical entertainer rather than something quieter or more restrained.
The Cast Rounding It Out
Alongside Kemmu, Shrivastava, and Zinta, VIBE features Vanshika Dhir, Yashpal Sharma, and Dinesh Lal Yadav, also known as Nirahua, in key supporting roles.
Yashpal Sharma and Nirahua both play agents within the same shadowy agency Madam H operates in, adding more familiar faces to the chaos around Hardik and Bugs. There’s also a surprise cameo from veteran actor Sharmila Tagore, which the trailer teases without giving too much away.
For Vanshika Dhir, this marks her Bollywood debut, while Sparsh Shrivastava is only two films into his career, having previously appeared in Aamir Khan’s Laapataa Ladies. Nirahua, meanwhile, has spent most of his recent career focused on Bhojpuri cinema, though he’s been picking up notable roles elsewhere too, including in Netflix’s Mamla Legal Hai and Prime Video’s Gram Chikitsalay.
Where Kunal Kemmu and Preity Zinta Stand Right Now
Kemmu was last seen hosting Prime Video’s Alliance and headlined the Netflix series Single Papa in 2025, so VIBE marks a return to leading a full theatrical feature, both in front of and behind the camera.
Preity Zinta, on the other hand, is coming off a recent acting comeback in the Sunny Deol starrer Batwara 1947, and VIBE looks set to continue that comeback with something considerably lighter in tone.

VIBE is produced by Kunal Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani under their Drongo Films banner, and it’s set for a theatrical release on September 18, 2026.
