The wait for Lust Stories 3 is almost over. Netflix’s much-loved anthology series is coming back with its third installment, and this time it’s bringing four completely new stories built around love, desire, intimacy, and the messy realities that tend to come with modern relationships.
If you have seen the trailer already, you already have a sense of the tone. If not, this breakdown of the Lust Stories 3 trailer is a good place to catch up before the actual premiere.
Lust Stories 3 Release Date
Lust Stories 3 premieres on Netflix on September 18. The platform confirmed the date through a social media post that leaned fully into the anthology’s signature tone, captioning it simply as “desire, drama and dilemmas,” alongside a reminder to mark the date. It’s a fitting bit of marketing for a show that’s always been unapologetic about the themes it explores.
Who’s Behind This Season
What makes this anthology format so interesting each time is the range of filmmakers involved. Season 3 brings together Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj, each directing one of the four short films that make up the anthology.
It’s a genuinely strong lineup, and having four distinct directorial voices means each segment carries its own tone and pacing rather than blending into a single, uniform anthology experience.
Backing the production is RSVP Movies, led by Ronnie Screwvala, along with Ashi Dua Sara’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment. Both producers have been involved with the franchise since its earlier seasons, giving this installment a sense of continuity even with new directors and new stories.
The Cast Bringing These Stories to Life
Lust Stories 3 features a genuinely stacked ensemble. Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, and Sana Thampi lead the four segments, with Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal, and Gurfateh Pirzada rounding out the cast across the different stories.

Reports going back to May 2025 had already indicated that Konkona Sen Sharma and Radhika Apte were attached to the project early on, and Radhika Madan reportedly auditioned specifically for a role opposite Ali Fazal in Shakun Batra’s segment.
It’s worth noting that Konkona Sen Sharma has a slightly different role this time around too. She directed and helped write a chapter in Season 2, but for this installment, she’s stepping back in front of the camera as an actor instead.
What the Stories Are About
Staying true to what the franchise has always been about, Lust Stories 3 continues exploring the many shades of intimacy and relationships, this time filtered through four very different directorial lenses.
Each filmmaker brings their own approach to themes of love, desire, and vulnerability, digging into the emotions, dilemmas, and choices that tend to come bundled with modern relationships.
Expect the anthology to lean into both the tender and the uncomfortable sides of intimacy, which has always been part of what sets this series apart from a typical romance anthology.
The Writers Behind the Screenplay
The writing credits for this season are fairly extensive, featuring Kiran Rao, Tanaji Dasgupta, Avinash Sampath, Sumukhi Suresh, Shakun Batra, Sameeha Sabnis, Ashwathi Namboodiri, Nitesh Bhatia, Utkarshini Vashishtha, and Vishal Bhardwaj, each contributing to the four different stories.
The Bigger Picture
With an ensemble cast this strong, four directors known for distinct storytelling styles, and a franchise that’s already built a loyal audience over two previous seasons, Lust Stories 3 looks set to deliver another collection of layered, emotionally grounded stories when it drops.
Lust Stories 3 streams exclusively on Netflix starting September 18, 2026.
