Soundous Moufakir’s journey is honestly one of the more unusual ones in Indian entertainment. She started in a completely different world, working as a financial analyst, before completely reinventing herself as a model, reality TV star, and eventually a Bollywood actress. Early Life and Education
Soundous was born on February 17, 1995, in Morocco, and was raised in a Moroccan Muslim family. She later moved to Paris to pursue higher studies, where she completed an MBA with a focus on Finance and Economics, a degree that set her up for a fairly conventional corporate career.
Before stepping into modelling or acting, she actually worked as a financial analyst in the corporate sector. But her genuine interest in performance and public appearances kept pulling at her, and she eventually made the bold decision to relocate to Mumbai, India, to chase a career in show business instead.
Career Beginnings
Soundous started out professionally as a model before making her on-screen debut in the Hindi music video Aja Aja in December 2020, opposite Sunny Ratan. This was her first real step into Indian entertainment and modelling work, and she went on to collaborate with brands like Caprese and Softline, along with doing bridal photoshoots.
In 2017, she had also tried her hand at entrepreneurship, starting a travel agency called Trips Exotica with a friend in India, though administrative issues eventually made it difficult for her to stay and grow the business at that time.
Reality TV Breakthrough
Soundous’s real breakout moment came in 2022, when she joined MTV Roadies X9, filmed in South Africa. Her confidence, stubborn determination, and competitive spirit made her one of the standout contestants that season, and it introduced her to a much wider Indian audience.
Building on that momentum, she went on to win MTV Splitsvilla X4 in February 2023 alongside Hamid Barkzi, becoming one of the rare international contestants to take home a major win on Indian reality television. She followed this success with an appearance on the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 13, further cementing her place in the reality TV space.
Moving Into Bollywood
Soundous eventually expanded beyond reality television and modelling into acting, making her Bollywood debut with The Kerala Story in 2023. She followed this with a role in Fateh in 2025, along with an appearance in Party Animals. She also featured in music videos, including Guru Randhawa’s Qatal and Naughty Balma, and made guest appearances on The Great Indian Kapil Show.
Alongside her acting career, Soundous built her identity as a digital creator and entrepreneur, launching her own skincare line called Moromaa, showing the same drive for building something of her own that she had shown earlier with her travel agency venture.
