Kia Seltos New Variants Launched in India – Everything You Need to Know

More safety features, a head-up display, built-in dashcams, and 28 ADAS functions — the kia Seltos just became a more compelling choice at the top of the segment

Kia Seltos New Variants Launched in India - Everything You Need to Know

Kia India has quietly been one of the more consistent performers in India’s competitive mid-size SUV segment, and the Seltos has been the anchor of that success since it launched in 2019.

The car has been updated and refreshed over the years, but the latest move is a meaningful one — two brand new top-spec variants that push the feature count significantly higher than anything the Seltos has offered before.

The GTX(O) and X-Line(O) variants went on sale on July 1, 2026, starting at ₹21.57 lakh (ex-showroom). They replace the GTX(A) and X-Line(A) at the top of the Seltos range, adding a substantial list of new equipment across safety, technology, and convenience. Here is the full picture.

Check Out – Kia Seltos New Variants

The headline addition is a significantly expanded ADAS suite — but there is much more beyond just the safety upgrades.

Safety: Level 2+ ADAS with 28 Features

The previous top-spec Seltos GTX(A) came with 21 ADAS features. The GTX(O) takes that to 28, adding seven new functions that push the system into what Kia is calling Level 2+ territory. The new additions include:

Junction Crossing Collision Avoidance — The car can now detect cross-traffic when approaching intersections and react accordingly, which is particularly useful at busy junctions where visibility is limited.

Lane Change Oncoming and Lane Change Side Collision Alerts — The system warns you when changing lanes if there is traffic coming from the opposite direction or alongside you — something the previous system could not detect.

Evasive Steering Assist — If a frontal collision is unavoidable, the system can actually steer the car to help minimise or avoid impact, rather than just braking.

Highway Driving Assist — Combines adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping on highways, reducing driver fatigue on long highway stretches.

Navigation-Based Adaptive Cruise Control — The cruise control now reads the navigation data and automatically adjusts speed ahead of corners and speed-limit zones. It knows the road ahead even before you react to it.

    Technology and Convenience

Beyond safety, both new variants come loaded with features that genuinely improve the daily ownership experience.

A windshield-projected Head-Up Display (HUD) puts speed, navigation, and key information directly in the driver’s line of sight — no need to glance down at the instrument cluster. In stop-and-go urban traffic, this is a more useful feature than it sounds.

Built-in front and rear dashcams that can be controlled through a mobile app remove the need for an aftermarket dashcam installation. For buyers in Indian cities where parking damage and road incidents are common, having this built in from the factory is a significant practical advantage.

Rain-sensing wipers automatically adjust wiper speed based on rainfall intensity — again, a feature that sounds small but genuinely reduces distraction while driving in monsoon conditions.

One-touch auto up/down for all four windows with a safety feature is another quality-of-life addition. Most cars offer this only for the driver’s window. Getting it across all four with anti-pinch safety is a notable upgrade.

Kia Connect 2.0 now offers more than 85 connected features, including VR and navigation updates through the mobile app. The Connected Car Navigation Cockpit supports voice commands in select regional languages — a feature that matters considerably more in India’s diverse linguistic landscape than it does in most international markets.

A Smart Air Purifier with AQI display and a Digital Key round out the feature additions.

    Powertrain Options

Both GTX(O) and X-Line(O) are available in two engine configurations only — both with automatic transmissions.

    1.5L DieselGTX(O) / X-Line(O)116 hp—6-speed AT

The turbo-petrol with DCT is the more engaging driver’s choice and handles urban traffic with noticeable confidence. The diesel automatic is the pick for buyers who prioritise fuel efficiency and primarily drive on highways.

GTX(O) vs X-Line(O) — What Is the Difference?

In terms of features and equipment, the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) are identical. The X-Line(O) is the cosmetically differentiated version — it comes with an exclusive Matte Graphite exterior finish, a distinctive black-and-green interior theme, blacked-out exterior trim, and black 18-inch alloy wheels.

If you want the same features with a more aggressive, dark aesthetic, the X-Line(O) is the choice. If you prefer a cleaner, more traditional SUV look, the GTX(O) gives you everything else without the visual differentiation markup.

    Who Should Consider These Variants?

If you are looking at the Seltos in the ₹20 lakh-plus range and comparing it against the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, or Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) now sit at a price point where the feature-to-rupee ratio is genuinely competitive.

The 28-feature ADAS suite is one of the more comprehensive in the segment at this price. The HUD, built-in dashcam, and rain-sensing wipers are features that typically require buyers to either step up to a more expensive car or fit aftermarket alternatives. Getting them from the factory, with proper integration and warranty coverage, is a meaningful advantage.

For families buying a premium SUV with a five-to-seven year ownership horizon, these variants make a strong case. For buyers who primarily care about value entry points, the Seltos continues to start at ₹10.99 lakh — unchanged.
