If you have been following Indian OTT long enough to have an opinion on TVF, you already know what it means when that name is attached to a new show. It means grounded storytelling. Real characters. The kind of writing that makes you feel like you know these people from somewhere. And now, the same creative team behind Panchayat and Aspirants is turning its attention to something a little darker — the world of pyramid schemes and the people who fall into them.
The Pyramid Scheme premieres on Prime Video on June 5, 2026, and it is already one of the most talked-about Hindi OTT releases of the year. Here is everything you need to know.

What Is The Pyramid Scheme Actually About?
The tagline on the official poster says it plainly: “Easy money doesn’t come so easily.”
The story follows Goldy — played by Paramvir Singh Cheema — a young man from a joint family in Haridwar who gets pulled into a multi-level marketing pyramid scheme. He is ambitious, a little impatient, and very attracted to the idea of getting rich without waiting years for it to happen. The scheme promises exactly that. What it delivers is something else entirely.
As Goldy climbs deeper into the MLM world, things start falling apart. His family relationships get strained. The trust people had in him starts to crack. And slowly, the fraudulent nature of the whole operation becomes impossible to ignore. The show follows his unravelling — not as a thriller in the traditional sense, but as an emotionally honest portrait of what happens when a normal person makes increasingly bad choices in pursuit of something that was never real to begin with.
The Haridwar setting is a smart choice. A city known for its temples and spiritual calm, sitting as the backdrop for a story about greed and deception — that contrast is doing a lot of quiet work in the narrative.

Cast of The Pyramid Scheme
The ensemble behind this show is genuinely impressive, especially for a TVF production.
Paramvir Singh Cheema
Ranvir Shorey
Shekhar Suman
Aanjjan Srivastav
Smita Bansal
Alfia Jafry
Ashish Raghava
Ranvir Shorey and Shekhar Suman are two actors who have been doing strong character work in Hindi cinema and OTT for years, and having them alongside Paramvir Cheema — who TVF fans will recognise from Sapne vs Everyone — gives the show a depth of performance that matches its ambition as a story.
The Team Behind The Pyramid Scheme
Shreyansh Pandey, the creative mind behind Panchayat, Aspirants, and Yeh Meri Family, is both the creator and co-director of The Pyramid Scheme. He is joined by Ashish R Shukla as co-director. The script is written by Akshendra Mishra.
TVF President Vijay Koshy described the show as exploring “ambition, validation, and the world of pyramid schemes — something not really shown on screen” before this. That framing makes sense. India has had its share of real-life MLM scams affecting ordinary middle-class families, and most of those stories have never been properly dramatised.
Manish Menghani, Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, praised the series for bringing “relatable themes of ambition and aspiration” to life — and specifically called out the performances from the three leads as a highlight.
Why People Are Excited
TVF has a rare track record on Prime Video. Panchayat has run for multiple seasons and built a genuinely devoted audience. Aspirants is still discussed as one of the best things Indian OTT has produced. When TVF announces a new show, there is an existing trust that the creative quality will be there.
What makes The Pyramid Scheme different from their earlier work is the subject matter. This is not a gentle slice-of-life village comedy or a story about UPSC preparation. It is a darker, more cautionary tale — one that reflects something real about how pyramid schemes prey on ordinary people’s desire for a better life. The fact that TVF is telling this story suggests they are confident they can handle that weight with the same authenticity that made their earlier work resonate.
