After issuing an advisory for Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has now released an advisory for Indian citizens regarding Israel as well. India has advised its citizens to avoid travelling to Israel until further notice. Here’s what led India to issue this advisory.
Embassy Releases Helpline Numbers
The Indian Embassy has urged Indian nationals currently living in Israel to exercise extreme caution. The advisory has been issued in view of the current security situation in the region (Iran-Israel tensions).
All Indian citizens presently in Israel have been advised to remain alert and strictly follow the security guidelines and protocols issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. The embassy has also asked citizens to regularly check the Home Front Command’s official website (https://oref.org.il/eng) for the latest security instructions, alert systems, information on safe rooms/shelters, and emergency procedures.
Advisory on Attacks and Security Threats
The advisory specifically mentions the possibility of rocket attacks, drone threats, or other security challenges in Israel. Indian nationals have been instructed to immediately follow official instructions during any such incident.
In case of sirens, citizens are advised to reach the nearest safe location within 90 seconds. The embassy has strongly advised Indian nationals to avoid all non-essential travel within Israel. Those already in the country should limit movement unless absolutely necessary.
Indians planning to travel from India to Israel have been advised to postpone their travel given the current situation.
