Europe’s Richest Country Where People Don’t Need to Work

If you want to experience a feeling like heaven on earth, you should plan a trip to Europe at least once. Europe has several countries whose beauty is famous all over the world. Not only this, one small European country tops the global list for per capita income. It is the richest country in Europe, where people are so wealthy that they do not even need to work for a living. People here focus only on fulfilling their passions. Yes, we are talking about Liechtenstein, a small country in Europe. Let’s find out why Liechtenstein is so special and what makes it unique.

Liechtenstein: The Richest Country in Europe

The beauty of Liechtenstein cannot be described in words. Nestled among stunning valleys, this country is located in the Alps between Austria and Switzerland. Liechtenstein does not have its own airport; to reach here, one has to fly to Switzerland. The country does not have its own official currency, and yet it is considered the richest country in Europe.

Among the Richest Countries in the World

Liechtenstein is a principality that combines a powerful monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. The Prince holds a very strong position, which was further strengthened by a constitutional referendum in 2003. Human rights and civil liberties are generally respected here. The Prince of Liechtenstein is said to be wealthier than the King of England and even richer than Queen Elizabeth was.

    Residents Have Enormous Wealth

The residents of Liechtenstein are so wealthy that they do not need to work throughout their lives. People here do only what they truly enjoy. They benefit from very low taxes, and the country has no external debt. Liechtenstein is also one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of artificial teeth.

A Country with Almost Zero Crime

Making noise or disturbing neighbours is considered inappropriate in Liechtenstein. Life here is based on mutual respect. Showing off wealth is frowned upon. Crime is so low that people often do not even lock their houses. There are only seven prisoners in the country, and they are served food from restaurants.

Highest Per Capita GDP in the World

Liechtenstein has fewer than 100 police officers, a population of less than 40,000 people, and no standing army. Citizens here enjoy facilities said to be nearly five times better than those in the United States. Most of the service staff working in the country come from Austria and Germany. Liechtenstein has the highest per capita GDP in the world. According to estimates for 2025, it stands at $231,713 (nominal) and $201,110 (PPP), making Liechtenstein the world’s top-ranked country in terms of per capita income for several years in a row.
