During the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, devotees have to perform the parikrama (circumambulation) of Mount Kailash. This involves walking approximately 50 to 55 kilometres. This sacred journey, extremely popular among the devotees of Lord Shiva, can be completed in about 3 days. The parikrama of the Mansarovar Lake, which spreads across 320 square kilometres, is also included during the yatra.
