The cyclone ‘Tauktae’ which is erupting in the Arabian Sea is currently at risk of making havoc and preparations are in order.

The states of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Goa, and Maharashtra are majorly targetted by the storm as of now. While two people have been registered dead due to the storm in Kerala, and four in Karnataka.

It is estimated that the storm will reach Gujarat by the 18th of May and precautions have been taken.
Now, several vigilant NDRF teams have been deployed in the affected areas.

Earlier, the number of teams was limited to 53 but due to the oncoming havoc situation, it has been increased to a total count of 100.

A total of 48 teams are actively looking after the situation, 20 are on standby, and 32 are for backup. So, preparation for fighting the storm is fully done considering everything.

The storm will likely disrupt things in the next 12 hours as it’ll deepen its route in the Indian seashore. The vehicular transport, road services have been stopped and emergency control teams are constantly on the lookout for providing reliefs.

Additionally, a dozen of families have been shifted from their homes to relief camps in light of the coming storm. The situation is already looking dire for India due to the rising COVID widespread and this storm can worsen up the situation even more.

This is why COVID relief is also one major task to accomplish with the ongoing possibility of the storm.

Arrangements are being made for Cyclone Tauktae

PM Narendra Modi is in discussion with the associated teams and amends are being made to take care of the situation. But we’ll see what happens in the next 12 hours as the storm will hit its peak.

If you belong to any of these regions, it’s recommended that you move out to a safe location as soon as possible.
