These days, several films have been released in theatres. While some are performing well at the box office, others are earning below average. Interestingly, Hollywood movies seem to be dominating over Bollywood releases. Let’s take a look at how all the films fared on Saturday:
Maalik
Audiences often show love for Rajkummar Rao’s films, but his latest release Maalik hasn’t performed exceptionally at the box office. On its opening day, the film had a below-average start with a collection of ₹3.75 crore. On the second day, it benefitted from the weekend boost and earned ₹5.25 crore. With this, the total collection so far has reached ₹9 crore. Released on 11th July, the film also stars Manushi Chhillar in a key role.
Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan
Shanaya Kapoor’s debut film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan was also released on 11th July. Unfortunately, it had a poor opening with only ₹30 lakh on day one. The film failed to capitalise on the weekend and collected just ₹43 lakh on the second day. So far, its total box office earnings stand at ₹73 lakh. Vikrant Massey plays an important role in this film.
Superman
Hollywood continues to outperform Bollywood at the Indian box office, and the same is true for the film Superman. It opened with an impressive ₹7 crore on day one. The film saw a jump over the weekend and earned ₹9.35 crore on the second day. The total collection now stands at ₹16.35 crore. It was also released on 11th July.
Metro In Dino
The multi-starrer Metro In Dino picked up momentum again over the weekend. It earned ₹3.5 crore on its opening day. Within the first week, the film collected ₹26.85 crore.
