The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) regularly launches special tour packages for travellers. This time, IRCTC has announced a unique tour package for devotees, covering over 30 significant locations associated with Lord Ram.
Following the grand opening of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 January last year, IRCTC is now launching its 5th special Ramayana train tour. This spiritual journey, titled ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’, will begin on 25 July 2025. Starting from Ayodhya, the tour will cover important destinations like Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi, and finally reach Rameshwaram in South India before concluding in Delhi.
IRCTC officials mentioned that ever since the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, religious and cultural tourism has seen a significant rise, with devotees from across the country showing great interest. They added that all previous Ramayana tours received an overwhelming response from both tourists and pilgrims.
Tour Package Prices
The cost of the tour varies based on the class of travel:
- 3AC: ₹1,17,975 per person
- 2AC: ₹1,40,120 per person
- 1AC Cabin: ₹1,66,380 per person
- 1AC Coupe: ₹1,79,515 per person
According to IRCTC, the package price includes train travel in the selected class, accommodation in 3-star category hotels, all vegetarian meals, transfers and sightseeing in AC buses, travel insurance, and the services of an IRCTC tour manager.
As per the latest press note, the journey will start from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on 25 July and will be operated using the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train. This state-of-the-art train includes two onboard restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in coaches, sensor-based washroom systems, foot massagers, and other premium amenities.
Journey to Be Completed in 17 Days
The fully air-conditioned train offers three travel classes: First AC, Second AC, and Third AC. Each coach is equipped with CCTV cameras and security personnel. The journey will last for 17 days, with the first destination being Ayodhya, where tourists will visit Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanuman Garhi, and Ram ki Paidi (Saryu Ghat).
Flight Package from Lucknow to Odisha Also Available
IRCTC has also announced a flight tour from Lucknow to Odisha, covering Bhubaneswar, Nandankanan, Puri, Chilka, and Konark. This tour will last four nights and five days, starting from 11 August and ending on 15 August.

- Single occupancy: ₹48,900 per person
- Double occupancy: ₹38,600 per person
- Triple occupancy: ₹36,100 per person
