Operation Sindoor: Global Leaders, Including Donald Trump, React to India's Action – Here's What They Said

Following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, the Indian Armed Forces launched a strong counteroffensive under “Operation Sindoor,” targeting and destroying nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes came 15 days after the Pahalgam massacre, sending shockwaves through Pakistan. As expected, global leaders have begun reacting to India’s operation.

    Donald Trump Reacts

Reacting to India’s air strikes inside Pakistan, former U.S. President Donald Trump condemned the Pahalgam attack as “shameful” and said, “We heard about it right as we walked through the doors of the Oval Office. I think people had a sense, based on past patterns, that something was coming. They’ve been fighting for a long time—decades, even centuries. I hope this ends very soon.”

    UN Secretary-General Calls for Restraint

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has urged both India and Pakistan to exercise military restraint following India’s operation. In a statement through spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric, Guterres expressed concern over military escalation along the Line of Control and the international border. “The world cannot afford a military conflict between India and Pakistan,” he stated, urging both nations to act with maximum restraint.

US Congressman Shri Thanedar: “War is Not the Solution”

US Congressman Shri Thanedar commented on India’s air strikes, saying, “War is never the answer, but when terrorist acts like these happen, it is important to find and punish the perpetrators.” He stressed that any country supporting terrorism should be made aware of the consequences. “The US should stand behind peaceful nations, and America and India must continue to cooperate in the global fight against terrorism,” he added.

Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif Lashes Out on Social Media

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif not only confirmed the Indian strikes but labeled them an act of war. According to a report by Pakistan’s Dawn News, five locations were hit inside Pakistan. In a dramatic social media post, Shehbaz claimed, “Pakistan reserves the full right to respond strongly to this act of war. A response is underway. The entire nation stands with the Pakistani armed forces. Our morale is high, and we know how to deal with such aggression. We will never let them succeed in their motives.”

    Pakistani Foreign Minister’s Harsh Statement

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also issued a strong response, calling India’s strikes a violation of the UN Charter, international law, and established diplomatic norms. He accused India of using terrorism as an excuse to portray itself as a victim. “This reckless action by India poses a threat to regional peace and security,” Dar warned, suggesting that the situation could spiral into a serious confrontation between two nuclear-armed nations.

    India Briefs Global Powers

Top Indian officials have already briefed their counterparts in the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Russia about the details of Operation Sindoor. These briefings outlined the rationale and execution of the military action taken by India against terrorist camps.
