Yodha starring Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani is a sky-high thrill ride that takes viewers on a journey of betrayal, redemption and action. The film is wonderfully shot and the cinematography is completely on point. This definitely has the potential to turn into a successful film franchise.
Sidharth Malhotra is extremely suited to play roles that deals with patriotism and action. He is on his A game in the Yodha and completely dominates the film with his charismatic yet thrilling performance. Raashii Khanna has beautifully portrayed her role of Priyamvada Katyal. She comes out as a seasoned actress who could easily put out what the script demands.
Her facial expressions, intensity and the movements are top notch. It won’t be wrong to say that she has outshined the hottest Bollywood diva in town. Disha Patani is surely a sight to behold. This is probably the first time that Disha has player a role with such conviction. Just for a few moments in the film she looks to be forcing the emotions but overall she has done a wonderful job.
Directors Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha have lit a fire with Yodha. The direction is brisk and there is no gap for wasted movements and actions. The film could have been a bit shorter though. As 2 hours and 17 minutes may feel a bit much to some viewers. But there is little to no scope for trimming in the movie.
Veteran actor Ronit Roy as Major Surender Katyal, the father of Arun Katyal is extremely impressive. There is no need to say that Ronit always aces his roles in the film. He once again does a fantastic job that can’t go unrecognised. The emotion and relevance that he brings to the Yodha is phenomenal.
Overall, Yodha is a must-watch sky-high action thriller film that deserves to be watched in the theatres. The film is a family entertainer and will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.
