When will the Interest Money be Credited to Your PF Account? Big Update from EPFO

Employees’ Provident Fund members have been waiting for a long time for the interest amount to be credited to their accounts. There is a big update from EPFO for such customers. The interest money may reach EPFO members’ accounts by July. An official notification from the Finance Ministry may be issued soon regarding this.

It is worth noting that the Central Board of Trustees, the highest decision-making body of EPFO, approved an interest rate of 8.25% for the fiscal year 2024 in February. However, the formal notification from the Finance Ministry is still awaited. According to sources, the delay has been due to the general elections. Now, it is expected that this process will be completed by July.

How will you know if the money has credited?

You will know if the interest money has been credited by regularly checking the passbook of your EPF account. You can check your EPF passbook through the EPFO portal using services like missed call or SMS.

How to check the passbook on the EPFO Portal:

Step 1 – First, visit the EPFO Portal at https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php. You need to have your UAN (Universal Account Number) activated.

Step 2 – Once the site opens, go to the ‘Our Services’ tab and then select ‘for employees’ from the dropdown menu.

Step 3 – Under the Services column, click on ‘member passbook’.

Step 4 – On the next page, enter your UAN and Password. Enter the CAPTCHA and log in.

Step 5 – After logging in, enter your Member ID. Your EPF balance will then be displayed.

How to check EPF passbook via Missed Call:

You can check your EPF balance by giving a missed call to the number 011-22901406. After placing the call, you will receive an SMS reflecting your balance. Make sure your mobile number is registered with your EPF account. Additionally, your PAN, Aadhaar number, and bank account must be linked with your UAN for this service to work.

    How to check via SMS:

Similar to the missed call service, ensure all necessary documents are linked with your UAN to use this service. Send an SMS to 7738299899 with EPFOHO UAN ENG (replace ‘ENG’ with the desired language code for the message).
