When Cholesterol Levels Rise, These Body Parts Start Hurting — Most People Ignore the Signs

Category-

Cholesterol is essential for the body, but excess levels can be quite harmful. High levels of LDL, commonly known as “bad cholesterol,” can lead to serious health problems such as heart attacks, artery blockages, and strokes. That’s why it’s very important to keep cholesterol levels under control. To do that, you must pay attention to its warning signs. Let’s look at the body parts where you might feel pain when cholesterol levels are high.

Pain or Cramps in the Legs

High cholesterol can reduce blood flow in the body, leading to pain or cramps in the legs. This pain may occur while walking or even when resting. You might also feel heaviness or tightness. If you notice such symptoms, consult a doctor for a check-up.

Chest Pain or Pressure

Pain or a feeling of pressure in the chest is a major warning sign of high cholesterol. When cholesterol builds up in the arteries around the heart, it causes a tightening or burning sensation in the chest. These could be early signs of a heart attack or coronary artery disease (CAD).

Pain in the Neck, Jaw, or Shoulders

Increased cholesterol levels can also cause unusual pain around the neck, jaw, or shoulders. This is due to restricted blood flow in the body. The pain may feel similar to muscle tension or stress.
