There is a good news for those who consume alcohol. Home delivery of alcohol can be seen soon in many states of the country. According to a report, many Indian states including Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Kerala and Delhi are considering starting online home delivery of liquor through Swiggy, BigBasket, Zomato and Blinkint. At present, the idea is to start it as a pilot project. According to the reports, in the initial phase, home delivery of products with low alcohol percentage like beer, wine and liquor will be approved.

The report states that at present the officials are evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of this move.

The report quoted an official as saying, “This step is being considered in view of the changing eating habits of people, especially in big cities. A large population of consumers drink these medium quantity alcohol products as entertainment with food. It will also meet the needs of women and senior citizens, who do not like to shop from traditional liquor shops due to the shop-front experience.”
