The film Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, has turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office, especially when compared to the blockbuster success of his earlier film Ghajini. While Ghajini created a massive stir, Sikandar has barely managed to cross the ₹200 crore mark worldwide and is struggling even more in India. Each passing day at the theatres is proving to be a challenge for the film.
On its 9th day, the film earned ₹1.75 crore, but on the 10th day, the collections dropped sharply. If the trend continues, Sikandar might soon vanish from cinemas altogether.
Starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, Sikandar was released on 30th March. It opened strong with ₹26 crore on Day 1, but the earnings started fluctuating and eventually declined. According to Sacnilk, on its second Tuesday (Day 10), the film collected around ₹1.35 crore, which is significantly less than its second Monday. The total net collection in India now stands at just ₹105.60 crore.
‘Sikandar’ to Face Competition from ‘Jatt’
Reports suggest that the audience hasn’t connected with the film’s storyline. Many theatres are witnessing empty seats, and multiple shows have been cancelled. The film has a window until 9th April, as Jatt—starring Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda—is set to release on 10th April. After that, Sikandar might struggle to even earn loose change.
Despite being Salman Khan’s comeback after two years, fans seem disinterested. As a result, the film is crawling at the box office.

‘Sikandar’ Fails to Match Up to Salman’s Top Films
It’s hard to imagine Sikandar entering Salman Khan’s list of top 10 highest-grossing films. For context, Dabangg 2 holds the 10th spot with ₹265 crore worldwide. So, it’s fair to say Sikandar is unlikely to break any of Salman’s previous records and might only survive a few more days in theatres.
