How Season 1 Ends

With little support at home, she leans on Inspector Khurana, a local cop equally committed to cracking the case.
By the finale, Anvita discovers that Rhea, believed to be the daughter of Sakshi and Gaurav, is actually Apeksha. A DNA test confirms it, and once the police close in on Sakshi’s role in the original abduction, Sakshi attempts suicide by jumping off a roof. She survives, but her condition remains critical. After nine years of pain, Anvita finally gets her daughter back.
So, Is There a Season 2?
As of now, Netflix has not officially announced a second season. That said, the ending leaves several major storylines genuinely unresolved, which makes a continuation feel like a natural next step rather than a forced one. If the show does return, reports suggest it could stream sometime in the second half of 2027, assuming a renewal comes through in a reasonably timely manner.
What Season 2 Could Explore
The most obvious thread left dangling is Anvita’s marriage. After learning that Alok has been cheating on her with her best friend Shreya, Anvita’s actions by the end of Season 1 strongly suggest she’s done with the relationship. Alok himself is a deeply flawed character, someone who manipulates both women around him while refusing to acknowledge his own mother’s role in the family’s dysfunction.
A second season could easily explore Alok trying to force his way back into Anvita’s life, possibly even turning the blame back onto her, something he’s already done once by accusing her of carelessness over Apeksha’s kidnapping.
Then there’s Shreya. Her betrayal, pursuing an affair with Alok despite years of friendship with Anvita, remains an open wound. Whether Anvita eventually forgives her or cuts her off entirely could shape a big part of how Season 2 unfolds emotionally.
Sakshi’s fate is another major thread. If she survives her injuries and wakes from her coma, she’d likely face real legal consequences, possibly requiring Anvita to testify against her in court, something that could reopen old wounds even as Anvita tries to move forward.
Who Might Return
If the show comes back, expect most of the main cast to reprise their roles, Parineeti Chopra as Anvita, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Alok, Harleen Sethi as Shreya, Jennifer Winget as Sakshi, and Soni Razdan as Madhu, among others. Anup Soni’s Inspector Khurana, despite dying in Season 1, could potentially appear in flashback sequences.
Season 2 might also introduce entirely new characters, particularly tied to Bhaskar’s illegal surrogacy operation and the tribal community referenced throughout the first season, giving the story fresh legal and social angles to explore beyond the central family drama.
Whether or not Shaque returns, the show has clearly set up more than enough unresolved tension to justify a second chapter: Anvita and Apeksha’s fragile new relationship, Sakshi’s legal reckoning, and the fallout from Alok and Shreya’s betrayals all remain wide open.
