Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is facing mounting trouble ever since the trailer of his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3 featured Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Calls for a ban on the film have grown louder, with demands now extending to a permanent ban on the singer and the film’s makers.
FWICE Calls for a Complete Ban on Diljit Dosanjh
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a press release demanding a lifetime ban on Diljit Dosanjh, the producers Gunbir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and director Amar Hundal. In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, FWICE urged the government to seize Diljit’s passport and revoke his Indian citizenship permanently.
In its statement, FWICE said:
“We strongly condemn and express outrage against actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, Gunbir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and director Amar Hundal for disrespecting the Indian film industry and national sentiment by casting a Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir, in their film Sardaar Ji 3.”
Appeal to Revoke Citizenship and Take Strict Action
FWICE also appealed to PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take immediate and strict action. They demanded that Diljit’s Indian passport be canceled without delay, and that he be barred from enjoying any rights, privileges, or representation associated with Indian citizenship or national identity.

Casting of Hania Aamir Strongly Opposed
The federation condemned the casting of Hania Aamir, citing her alleged anti-India remarks during India’s Operation Sindoor. FWICE stated that featuring her in an Indian film is an insult to Indian soldiers and their families.
OTT Platforms Urged to Cut Ties with Diljit
FWICE also called upon all Indian OTT platforms to cut ties with Diljit Dosanjh. They further urged film producers and industry federations to avoid working with him, accusing him of choosing to collaborate with an “enemy”.
What Will Happen to Diljit’s Upcoming Projects?
Diljit is currently involved in several Bollywood projects, including Border 2 with Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, and a romantic film directed by Imtiaz Ali. With growing protests, the fate of these projects now hangs in the balance.
