Indian Railways is preparing to launch 10 new Vande Bharat Sleeper trains soon. These trains will be equipped with modern amenities and offer passengers a world-class travel experience. The Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will feature advanced technology and premium interiors.
According to a senior railway official quoted by ET Now, the Railways is working towards running these trains in the financial year 2025-26. Work is progressing rapidly, and there is hope that 10 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will be launched within the current financial year. These trains are being manufactured with the support of BEML. However, the final decision on the launch date will be taken by the Railway Board.
Possible Routes for the Sleeper Trains
Although the Railways has not officially announced the routes for these sleeper trains, it is expected that these semi-high-speed trains will operate on popular routes such as New Delhi–Howrah, Sealdah–New Delhi, New Delhi–Pune, New Delhi–Mumbai, and New Delhi–Secunderabad.
Currently, three companies are involved in the production of Vande Bharat Sleeper trains: BEML, Kinet Railway Solutions Ltd, and a joint venture between Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd and BHEL. Indian Railways is expected to receive a total of 210 sleeper trains from these companies.

Key Features of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train aims to transform long-distance and overnight travel in India. It is being designed to offer passengers a world-class journey with top-notch facilities. The train’s structure will be made of austenitic stainless steel. Each train set will consist of 16 coaches and can accommodate a total of 823 passengers, offering both seating and sleeping arrangements.
