    Pathaan Movie Review

‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan Meri Jaan Mehfil Hi Lut Jaaye.’ Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan can be summarised using these words from his own film. Pathaan is a rip-roaring spy thriller that keeps you on edge and delivers massive mindblowing action sequences that makes you wanna applaud the VFX team, direction and storyline. There is no single moment in the film that will make you feel dull and bored. Pathaan’s biggest power is its fast pacing action and thrill that does not get overwhelming even when the film is almost two and a half hours long.

Siddharth Anand deserves all the praise for keeping the storyline engaging even though the film is quite long compared to the standards of nowadays. His direction has improved manifold since the release of War. Pathaan is visually almost perfect and has one of the greatest VFX we have seen in any Bollywood film.

Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan has proved that there is still that fire and passion in him to drive a movie on his own. He clearly did not need to drive this film alone, as everyone else had also done a wonderful job. But, definitely, the film is tailor-made to make Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan) stand out. This is often the case with spy-thrillers. The main lead takes most of the spotlight, and rightly so. People love following the tale of the main star, which ultimately brings down the baddies and saves the day. Pathaan works well with this premise, and SRK shines brighter than a star in this film.

Deepika Padukone is equally fantastic in her role. She steals the spotlight with her sharp acting skills and also her perfect beauty. She is a sight to behold in Pathaan. On the other hand, John Abraham works so well as a villain that he will make you hate him. His facial expressions and action are top-notch. There is something about John Abraham in patriotic action thrillers that just tends to click. Veteran actors Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana have also played their parts sincerely.

Lastly, Salman Khan’s cameo comes totally as a surprise even when you know that he will make an appearance in the film. The moment when Salman as Tiger arrives in the film will give you literal chills. Shah Rukh and Salman in one frame in a high-octane thriller are just too fantastic to miss out on.

All in all, Pathaan is a wonderful spy thriller that deserves to be watched in the theatres this weekend.
