Never Let Go is scheduled for release in the United States on September 27, 2024, replacing Saw XI. The film, directed by Alexandre Aja from a screenplay by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby, stars Halle Berry. Originally titled Mother Land, the script was acquired by Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment in August 2020, with Lionsgate Films distributing.
Initially, Mark Romanek was set to direct, but in May 2021, Alexandre Aja took over with Halle Berry joining the cast. In June 2022, Lionsgate sold international rights at the Cannes Film Festival. Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins joined the cast in April 2023. Principal photography occurred in Vancouver, British Columbia, from April 17 to June 2, 2023.
