Latest Statewise Flight Quarantine Rules for Travelling in India

As the flight operations have resumed, considering the COVID-19 situation, the different state government has carried out their respective flight quarantine rules. Before traveling to a place, make sure that you have read and have understood all Statewise flight quarantine rules. Statewise Flight Quarantine Rules

  1. New Delhi

Domestic: There will be no institutional or home quarantine for the passengers. Thermal screening is necessary and Aarogya Setu App needs to be updated. The passenger has to fill self-declaration form either before a flight (online) or onboard. Symptomatic patients will be taken directly to an isolation facility.




International: For exemption from institutional quarantine, passengers must submit a negative RT-PCR report. Relaxation will be given from institutional quarantine to home quarantine if someone passed away in the family, pregnancy, serious illness, parents with less than 10-year-old child.

  1. Gujarat – Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Kandla, Bhuj, Rajkot, Porbandar, Bhavnagar Airports

Domestic: Beyond the thermal check, no health screening is required. There will be no institutional or home quarantine for the passengers. A self-declaration form has to be provided by the passenger and keeping Aarogya Setu App updated is necessary. No COVID test will be done.

International: Passengers without valid negative RT-PCR reports will be taken into isolation in an institutional quarantine center for 7 days. After 7 days of institutional quarantine, passengers will be home quarantined for the next 7 days if they do not possess a valid RT-PCR report.



  1. Telangana – Hyderabad Airport

Domestic: There will be no institutional or home quarantine for the passengers. Thermal screening is necessary and Aarogya Setu App needs to be updated. The passenger has to fill self-declaration form either before a flight (online) or onboard. Symptomatic patients will be taken directly to an isolation facility.

International: For exemption from institutional quarantine, passengers must submit a negative RT-PCR report. Relaxation will be given from institutional quarantine to home quarantine if someone passed away in the family, pregnancy, serious illness, parents with less than 10-year-old child.

  1. Andhra Pradesh – Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Kadapa, and Vishakhapatnam Airports

Domestic: No quarantine for asymptomatic travelers.

International: Passenger is required to submit self-declaration form on https://www.spandana.ap.gov.in, 72 hours before boarding the plane. The passenger has to undergo a Rapid Antigen Test for COVID-19 screening at the airport which is Rs. 500/-. This test has to be conducted max. 96 hours before the starting of the journey.



  1. Assam

The state government has issued a new SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the incoming passengers to the state. If a person has undergone RT-PCR Covid-19 test within 72 hours before arriving in Assam and the test results come out negative, then that person will not be quarantined and will not undergo the COVID-19 test after his arrival in the state.

If a person steps out of the state and returns within 24 hours after his departure then he need not undergo the COVID-19 test or quarantine.

  1. Maharashtra – Mumbai and Pune Airports

Domestic: No institutional quarantine is required but passengers have to undergo 14 days home quarantine. Thermal screening is necessary and Aarogya Setu App needs to be updated. Symptomatic patients will be taken directly to an isolation facility.

International: The passenger has to undergo 7 days institutional quarantine and 7 days home quarantine if they are without a negative RT-PCR report. RT-PCR report negative passengers have to remain home quarantine for 14 days. Thermal screening is necessary and Aarogya Setu App needs to be updated.



  1. Maharashtra – Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Jalgaon. Shirdi and Nagpur Airports

Only 14 days home quarantine is necessary for the passengers. No COVID-19 test is necessary. Thermal screening is necessary and Arogya Setu App needs to be updated.

  1. Bihar – Patna, Darbhanga, and Gaya Airports

Domestic: No quarantine of passengers.

International: Passengers have to be institutionally quarantined for 7 days and it will be government paid, followed by 7 days home quarantine for asymptomatic passengers arriving at Gaya airport.

  1. Goa

Domestic: Domestic travelers don’t have to be institutionally quarantined, home quarantined, and don’t have to go through health screening and COVID-19 test.

International: It is compulsory for asymptomatic passengers that they must undergo home quarantine for 14 days. The passenger has to fill self-declaration form on health status.

  1. Chhattisgarh

Domestic: No need to quarantine

  1. Madhya Pradesh – Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Indore Airports

Domestic: Arriving passengers do not require institutional quarantine. SpO2 and thermal screening will be done for all the passengers. Aarogya Setu App needs to be updated. The passenger has to fill self-declaration form either before a flight (online) or onboard. Symptomatic patients will be taken directly to an isolation facility.

International: Passengers have advised to home quarantine themselves for 14 days. Arogya Setu App needs to be updated or the passenger has to fill self-declaration form.



  1. Jharkhand – Ranchi and Deogarh Airports

Domestic: A person returning to the state by air/rail/road has to register his/her details before his arrival on the government website of Jharkhand-https://nicjharkhand.nic.in/ That person has to compulsorily home quarantine himself/herself for 14 days. These rules are not meant for helpers/drivers of commercial vehicles who are involved in cargo, airlines, etc.

  1. Sikkim – Pakyong Airport

Currently, there are no flight operations to Pakyong airport, so there are no such flight quarantine rules. No quarantine is required when entering the state. If a traveler is experiencing flu-like symptoms then he/she can visit the nearest health center.



  1. Odisha – Bhubaneshwar and Jharsuguda Airports

Domestic: No restrictions on people, private vehicles, goods, and no restriction for cross-land border trade with neighboring countries.

International: Passengers having RT-PCR negative reports will be free from institutional quarantine. The test has to be conducted within 96 hours prior to undertaking the journey.

  1. Uttarakhand

Before arriving in Uttarakhand, the person has to register himself/herself on http://smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in. The person has to contact the state helpline for assistance on 0135-2609500, 1800 180 1200, before finalizing his/her itinerary.




  1. West Bengal – Kolkata and Bagdogra Airports

Domestic: Travellers need to maintain standard hygiene during travel. Health screening will be done at the time of departure before heading for the state. Asymptomatic passengers can skip quarantine but are requested to self-monitor their health for 14 days. They must inform the health officer on 1800 313 444 222/033-23412600, 2357 36336/1083/1085 for medical intervention in case they develop any symptoms.

International: Passengers tested COVID-19 negative will be allowed to take flights, but they have to compulsorily home quarantine themselves for 14 days.




  1. Delhi

  1. Andaman and Nicobar – Port Blair Airport

Domestic: Incoming passengers from the mainland are being tested with RT-PCR/RAPID Antigen Test and the cost of the test will be Rs. 500/- per head except for medical patients with an attendant. If a passenger wishes to visit out of Port Blair through a ship or a boat, then he shall be tested. Tourists who test negative on Rapid Antigen Test, do not have to undergo 7 days home quarantine.

International: International passengers are permitted as per the Ministry of Home Affairs order.
