When Will Kedarnath Temple Open?
The Kedarnath Temple doors will reopen on May 2, 2025, at 6:20 AM. This announcement was made by religious leaders and authorities on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. Devotees will be allowed to enter the temple from 7:00 AM onwards. The temple will remain open until October 23, 2025, after which it will close for the winter season.
When Will the Char Dham Yatra Begin?
Apart from Kedarnath, the opening dates for the other Char Dham temples have also been announced:
- Yamunotri Temple will open on April 30, 2025
- Gangotri Temple will also open on April 30, 2025
- Badrinath Temple will open on May 4, 2025
Where is Kedarnath Temple Located?
The Kedarnath Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds great spiritual importance. It is also the first temple in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit. Located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, the temple is surrounded by the Himalayan mountain ranges.
To reach Kedarnath, you can travel by bus or taxi from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun. The journey by road takes you to Gaurikund, after which you need to cover a 16-km trek to reach the temple. You can complete this trek on foot, by pony, palanquin, or helicopter services.
