Starting October 1, 2024, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced new regulations to improve service quality and reduce spam messages containing fraudulent web links. These rules also help users identify the network technology available in their area. Only approved web links can now be sent via SMS. Additionally, telecom operators are required to publish their Quality of Service (QoS) performance, including network availability and call drop rates, on their websites every quarter under the new standards.
