Jio has signed a deal with the homegrown cloud storage service DigiBoxx to offer more cloud storage to its users. Jio users were given 20GB of cloud storage earlier, but with the partnership with DigiBoxx, the available cloud storage will rise to 30GB. People with the Jio Set-Top box will be the direct beneficiaries of this new partnership. Through JioPay, the users of the Jio Set-Top box can avail of the services of cloud storage offered by DigiBoxx.
Jio released an official press release in which it stated the objectives of this new alliance. The Reliance-owned telecom brand has said that this partnership is a step towards innovative storage solutions. It will meet the cloud storage needs of existing and future Jio customers. Registered users for DigiBoxx can create folders and upload various photos and videos from their smartphones to secure cloud storage.
Jio Set-Top box comes preloaded with the JioPhotos app, which is essentially going to serve as the primary platform for accessing cloud storage services. If a Jio user adds their DigiBoxx account to the JioPhotos, they will be instantly able to view all the content that has been uploaded to their cloud storage.
Official Statement from DigiBoxx:
“This alliance will help us bring our proprietary technology offering to a new set of digitally active consumers. We firmly believe we have a game-changing service and platform, which nobody can match or compete with, considering the storage space we provide. With integration, Jio users will greatly benefit from this integration. DigiBoxx is honoured to be a partner of choice with the biggest and fastest-growing digital business in the country. This is more than an integration of APIs but a meeting of minds that has brought Jio and DigiBoxx together with a common vision to transform cloud storage and usage in India.”
