Amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, there was uncertainty over whether the Asia Cup 2025 would take place. Earlier reports claimed that India had declined to participate in the tournament. However, BCCI Secretary had dismissed these reports. Now, a probable date for Asia Cup 2025 has surfaced. According to a report by Cricbuzz, the tournament may be held in September. A total of six teams, including India and Pakistan, are expected to participate. It remains to be seen whether India will play against Pakistan.
As per Cricbuzz, the Asia Cup 2025 is likely to begin on 10th September, and the official schedule may be released in the first week of July. Notably, India holds the hosting rights for this edition. If India and Pakistan face each other in the tournament, the match will be held at a neutral venue.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is planning to release the full schedule in early July. This year’s tournament will be played in the T20 format.
If everything goes as planned, the six participating teams will be India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the UAE. For the neutral venue matches, the UAE is currently the frontrunner to host.

The report also mentions ongoing discussions about conducting the Asia Cup under a hybrid model. While India is the official host, the ACC had previously decided that any India-Pakistan matches would be played at a neutral venue.
