    The risk of cancer is increasing rapidly in the world. Every year a large number of people are dying due to its grip. Research is also going on continuously to make its medicine. Meanwhile, a big news is coming. In which it has been told that drinking tea-coffee can reduce the risk of cancer. Research published in the Cancer magazine has told that drinking three-four cups of coffee daily reduces the risk of head and neck cancer by 17%, while drinking one cup of tea reduces its risk by 9%.     Tea and coffee will reduce the risk of cancer

    Research so far has shown that bioactive elements like caffeine in tea and coffee have anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties, which help in reducing the risk of cancer. A recent research has shown that drinking coffee in limited quantities can lead to a healthy life. Yuan-Chin Amy Lee, who works at the School of Medicine at the University of Utah, USA, and is the senior author of this study, said that research has already been done on drinking tea and coffee and reducing the risk of cancer, but this study has explained the effects on head and neck cancer.

    What has been found in the research?

    Cancer cases can increase rapidly all over the world. Research is also being done continuously on this. In this study, researchers analysed the data of 14 studies involving 9,550 patients with head and neck cancer and 15,800 patients without cancer. Compared to non-coffee drinkers, those who drink more than four cups of caffeinated coffee daily have a 17% lower risk of head-neck cancer.

    Along with this, the risk of mouth cancer has also been found to be reduced by 30% and the risk of throat cancer by 22%. Apart from this, drinking 3 to 4 cups of caffeinated coffee also reduces the risk of hypopharyngeal cancer by 41%. On the other hand, drinking decaffeinated coffee reduces the risk of ‘oral cavity cancer’ by 25%.

    Drinking tea and coffee also increases the risk of this cancer

    According to the study, drinking one cup of tea reduces the risk of head, neck cancer by 9% and the risk of hypopharynx by 27%. However, drinking more than one cup of tea a day increases the risk of larynx cancer by 38%. Researchers say that the studies they analysed were mainly from North America and Europe, so its effect on other countries may be different.
