Here is an upcoming American drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis and Eric Roth, based on Richard McGuire’s graphic novel of the same name. The film stars Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Paul Bettany, and Kelly Reilly. It marks the first reunion of Hanks and Wright, as well as Zemeckis and Roth, since the release of Forrest Gump in 1994.

Here Plot
A film adaptation of Here by Richard McGuire was announced in February 2022. Produced by Playtone and ImageMovers, the film is written by Eric Roth, directed by Robert Zemeckis, and stars Tom Hanks. By May, Robin Wright had joined the cast, and Miramax came on board as the main financier and international sales agent, with Sony Pictures Releasing acquiring U.S. distribution rights. Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly joined the cast in September, followed by Leslie Zemeckis in February 2023, and Michelle Dockery and Gwilym Lee in April.

Production, initially planned for September 2022, began in January 2023 at Pinewood Studios in London. The film employs a new generative AI technology, Metaphysic Live, to face-swap and de-age actors in real time during performances. The narrative unfolds within the confines of a single plot of land, chronicling the lives of its inhabitants from the distant past to far into the future.
