The Rekha Gupta-led Delhi government is introducing a new and modern facility to make life easier for citizens. Under this service, you will now be able to get essential government documents from the comfort of your home with just a single click. Whether you need a marriage certificate, driving licence, or caste certificate, all these documents will now be available directly on WhatsApp.
In the initial phase, around 25 to 30 services have been included under this scheme, and more departments will be added gradually over time.
How to Get Government Documents on WhatsApp
If you need any important document, you just have to send a simple “Hi” message to a special WhatsApp number. After that, your document will be verified, and you will receive a QR code to download your certificate. The service will also feature AI assistance — an AI chatbot will guide you in both Hindi and English, providing details about the services and explaining different schemes.

What If You Don’t Have WhatsApp?
For those who do not have a smartphone or internet access, the government will set up Common Service Centres (CSCs) in different districts. Citizens will be able to use these centres to access government services easily. Preparations are already underway for this facility.
Delhi Government Working with Meta
This WhatsApp-based governance is a part of the Delhi government’s Digital Transformation Strategy. The system is being launched to make public services more convenient. You can even request government documents as late as 1:00 AM without visiting any office or standing in long queues. For this initiative, the Delhi government is working in collaboration with Meta.
Your Phone Will Become a Government Office
Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party government had introduced a doorstep delivery system covering services from over 30 government departments. Now, the BJP-led government is taking it a step further by going fully digital. With WhatsApp, you will be able to access all your important documents directly on your phone, making your mobile device work just like a government office.
