Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi Trailer Review and Release Date — A Wedding Comedy That Does Not Take Itself Too Seriously

An unconventional bride. A countdown. Multiple confused grooms. And the kind of family chaos that makes weddings both terrifying and wonderful at the same time.

Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi Trailer Review — A Wedding Comedy That Does Not Take Itself Too Seriously

Wedding comedies have a very specific job to do. They need to be warm enough to feel like a celebration, funny enough to keep you engaged through the emotional stretches, and anchored by at least one character you genuinely root for. The trailer for Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi, which dropped on July 16, 2026, suggests the film knows exactly what it is trying to be — and is not shy about going for it.

The film releases in theatres on July 24, 2026.

    What the Trailer Shows

The premise is immediately enjoyable. An unconventional bride is racing against a deadline — the trailer does not spell out exactly what the deadline is, which is smart, because it keeps you wondering — and her urgency sets off a hilariously chaotic game of musical chairs among multiple prospective grooms.

The setting is a big, colourful Indian wedding, and director Akashaditya Lama clearly understands that the backdrop does a lot of the work in a film like this. Weddings are already dramatic, already emotional, already slightly out of control even under the best circumstances. Drop an unconventional bride with a deadline into that environment and you have a comedy engine that essentially runs itself — as long as the cast is committed enough to sell it.

From the trailer, the cast looks very much committed.

Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi Release Date - Khushalii Kumars Wedding Comedy Arrives July 24

    The Cast

Khushalii Kumar is the centre of everything here, and the trailer gives her room to establish the character’s energy early. Confident, unpredictable, funny without trying too hard — she described her character as someone who “keeps everyone on their toes,” and you can see exactly what she means in the two-minute cut. This looks like the most expressive performance she has given on screen, and the material suits her.

Mahesh Manjrekar provides the emotional grounding. He plays a father figure who genuinely wants the best for his family, and even in the trailer’s brief moments you can see how his quieter scenes balance the louder comedy around him. His comment about the film’s “simplicity and honesty” is telling — good family comedies need someone who takes the emotion seriously even when everything around them is absurd, and Manjrekar appears to be doing exactly that.

Piyush Mishra is one of those actors who makes every scene he appears in slightly more interesting, and his presence in the supporting cast raises the film’s overall credibility. Also in the mix are Omkar Kapoor and content creators Agu Stanley Chiedozie and B.C. Aunty — the latter being a genuinely inspired casting choice that signals the film is aware of what younger audiences find funny and is deliberately reaching for them.

    What the Director Said

Akashaditya Lama’s comment about the trailer is one of the more honest things a director has said about their own promotional material in a while. “We wanted the trailer to leave audiences smiling while making them wonder what happens next,” he said. “It’s fast-paced, quirky, emotional and filled with characters you’ll enjoy rooting for.”

That combination — smiling and curious — is exactly the right emotional target for a family wedding comedy. If a trailer achieves both of those things in two minutes, the film has a reasonable chance of delivering the full version over ninety minutes.

The trailer mostly succeeds on those terms. It is energetic without being exhausting, warm without being sentimental, and funny without leaning on any single joke too heavily.

    Who Is This Film For

Honestly, everyone who has ever attended an Indian wedding and recognised something in the organised chaos of it. The film is clearly pitched as a complete family entertainer — the kind that works in a cinema where three generations are sitting in the same row, which is genuinely rare and genuinely valuable when a film manages it.

Dulhaniya Le Aaeegi is produced by Siddharth Banerjee, Akashaditya Lama, and Vikas Aggarwal, and directed by Lama. It hits theatres on July 24, 2026.

If the trailer is any indication, the drama begins long before the pheras — and that is precisely the point.
