Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has created a storm at the theatres as soon as it released. On its opening day itself, the film set the box office on fire and made a bumper collection. It has now become the fourth-biggest opening film of Ranveer Singh’s career. Along with this, it has beaten Salman Khan’s Sikandar and Saiyaara, which featured Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday. Surprisingly, Dhurandhar earned much more on Day 1 than what was expected.
The film had been eagerly awaited, and thanks to strong advance bookings, a good opening was predicted. However, the movie surpassed all expectations. Dhurandhar earned around ₹9 crore through advance bookings, and with spot bookings, it was expected to collect around ₹15–20 crore on its opening day. But the film went beyond that. Even though Tere Ishq Mein is already running in theatres and performing well at the box office, Dhurandhar was released on a large scale. Here is the opening day collection:
Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan. It had around 13,000 shows across India. The film’s budget is said to be around ₹280 crore, and it crossed the ₹20 crore mark on the opening day.

Dhurandhar Opening Day Collection – A New Record
According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned ₹27 crore on the first day in India. With this, it has become the biggest opener of Ranveer Singh’s career. It has surpassed major Ranveer films like Padmaavat, Simmba, Gully Boy, and Gunday.
For reference, Padmaavat had shown massive growth on its second day. On Day 1, including paid previews, it collected ₹24 crore — and that was before the COVID era. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty’s Simmba collected around ₹20.72 crore on its opening day. Now, in the post-COVID period, Dhurandhar achieving a ₹27 crore opening is a huge milestone.
