Currently, numerous celebrity children are garnering attention in Bollywood. Some have already made their mark with debut films, while others are on the path to entering the industry. In addition, there have been several star kids in the past who achieved fame in the film world. While some followed in the successful footsteps of their parents, others faced disappointments. Among the list of unsuccessful star kids is Suneil Anand, son of the late Bollywood icon Dev Anand.

Suneil Anand, the son of Dev Anand, was born on June 30, 1956. Suneil, a well-educated star kid, obtained a Business Administration degree from American University in Washington before venturing into the world of acting. Despite his business background, he possessed a deep passion for making a mark in the acting industry. Consequently, he decided to tread the same path as his father and embarked on his journey with his debut film.

Despite receiving support from Dev Anand initially, Suneil Anand’s acting career did not thrive in Bollywood. He entered the industry with his debut film “Anand Aur Anand” in 1984, where he shared the screen with his father, Dev Anand, for the first time. Regrettably, the film failed to perform well at the box office.

His second film, “Car Thief,” featured Vijaya Pandit as the female lead. However, despite their pairing, the film could not find success and met with failure at the box office.

After facing two back-to-back failures, Dev Anand once again took it upon himself to salvage his son’s career. He produced another film titled “Main Tere Liye,” featuring Rajendra Kumar, Asha Parekh, Suneil Anand, and Meenakshi Seshadri in lead roles. The film’s songs received a positive response from the audience. However, similar to Suneil’s previous two films, this one also failed to make a mark at the box office. Unfortunately, it turned out to be his third consecutive flop.

Suneil’s fourth and final film as an actor was “Master” in 2001, which he directed himself. However, even this film couldn’t revive his career. Subsequently, he gradually transitioned from acting to directing and producing films. He took charge of managing their production company, Navketan Films.
